When I'm not teaching History, I oversee the planning and implementation of Values-in-Action (VIA) and Student Leadership (SL) programmes, to holistically develop students into Girls of Grace, Women of Strength, and Leaders with Heart. I also serve as an advisor and mentor to teachers in the SL and VIA teams, leading by example and fostering a culture of reflection, adaptation, and innovation.

I supported my Student Development Head to oversee the implementation of the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) and National Education (NE) curriculum in school. As coordinator for the CCE and NE units, I planned, monitored and reviewed school-wide CCE and NE programmes for 17–18 year old students.

I was the teacher IC of the Students' National Education Council, mentoring a group of passionate student leaders to organise various school-wide NE experiences. I also partnered with other Ministries and community stakeholders to plan various NE programmes including NE Symposiums and heritage trails.

I have over ten years of experience teaching History at JC1/JC2 levels. For H2 History, the content comprises both International and Southeast Asian History. My experience reading History at both the Undergrad and Postgrad level has equipped me with the expertise to supervise my H3 History students in their independent research papers.

In terms of pedagogy, I am well-versed in implementing Inquiry-Based Learning, Blended Learning and Differentiated Instruction. I am also very comfortable and proficient in using ICT tools to enhance classroom learning.

During my HQ stint, I was involved in the development and implementation of the GCE 'A' level History and China Studies in English (CSE) syllabuses. To support schools, I organised and conducted training to enhance teacher competency. Another core part of my role involved managing the design and production of History and CSE digital resources for the online Student Learning Space (SLS). I also have experience working with external illustrators and designers to customise digital learning objects.

After graduating from NIE with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programmes, I taught H1 and H2 GCE 'A' level History and China Studies in English. Outside the classroom, I was teacher in-charge for Swimming and Shooting. I was also a member of the school's Fund Raising, National Education and Staff Wellbeing Committee.

Modules focused on modern world history, the Cold War, Singapore history as well as history, memory and identity. Thesis on the Chinese Middle Schools Student Protests in 1950s Singapore. Graduated with a GPA of 4.6.

The course discussed issues behind various destruction or threats to heritage across different communities.

Qualified to teach History at both High School and College levels. Obtained an overall Merit and Distinction for Practicum.

Read modules focused on International History, in particular US and the Cold War. Honours Thesis on heritage and national identity in Singapore. Also took a minor in Literature.
